Dosage
Induction
It is induced by mixing sevoflurane with oxygen or oxygen and nitrous oxide. Alternatively, it may be induced by mixing sevoflurane with oxygen or oxygen nitrous oxide after administration of a sleep intravenous anaesthetic. This product usually induces a concentration of 0.5 to 5.0%.
Maintain
Usually, oxygen or oxygen or nitrous oxide is used in combination, and the anesthesia state is maintained at a minimum effective concentration according to the patient's condition, usually at a concentration of 4.0% or less.
Sevoflurane is a non-flammable, sweet-smelling halogenated ether anesthetic that induces and maintains general anesthesia. Its potency and resilience are very fast, second only to desflurane. This medicine is usually administered in inhalation after mixing with nitrous oxide and oxygen.
The safety record of sevoflurane is good, and sevoflurane is the first choice for induction of anesthesia due to its low irritation to airway mucosa.
Sevoflurane is suitable for patients of different ages and is often used in day surgery and outpatient surgery. It is one of the most commonly used anesthetics. Sevoflurane is now widely used in veterinary medicine.
